- 1922, Great Southern Life became the first company in America to insure the lives of children.
- 1971, Ohio State Life was the first to advance death benefit payments to sustain the life of a policyholder.
- 1981, Great Southern Life led the way as one of the first American companies to offer universal life insurance.
- More recently, we were one of the first companies to introduce indexed universal life and annuity products.
