Required Minimum Distribution Election Form
The SECURE Act, effective January 1st, 2020, changes the date by which you are required to begin minimum distributions from age 70 ½ to age 72. If you reached the age of 70 ½ prior to January 1, 2020, nothing will change and your requirement will continue according to the prior rule. However, if you have not reached the age of 70 ½ by January 1, 2020, the IRS will now require that you begin receiving distributions related to your IRA or employer-sponsored qualified retirement plan by April 1st following the year in which you reach age 72.
If you wish to begin receiving the required minimum distribution as set forth by the internal Revenue Code, fill out the Distribution Election form.
